Chad: Yeah so nobody from Bolivia can really say my name. It always comes out either Chaaa or Chath. I also have to repeat it like four times for anybody to understand what I even said because they've never heard it before. Thus I've decided to poll everyone (assuming of course that there is somebody out there actually reading this) to see what Spanish name I should use. I have narrowed it down to several choices: Arturo, Gustavo, and Ruben. I am not actually set on any of these names, so if anyone has other suggestions they would be taken into consideration. In Mexico I went by Chavo, but evidently there was some TV show with a guy named Chavo del ocho. This TV character was kind of like Kramer. I have also gone by Pepecito but that's a Mexican name. Please give me your vote. This could determine my name for years to come in the country of Bolivia. Simply post your comments and I will be happy to reply to them and keep you posted on what I decide. Gracias. P.S. Emily doesn't think that I am any of these but she fails to tell me what name does fit me.

Can they say Emmons? I vote for Emmons. Aileen votes for Emmons, too. I say at the very least keep it non-spanish. That was half the fun of having foreign-exchange students in high school. None of them had names like us. Except for Peter from Hungary, but he doesn't count because he had a unibrow. If Emmons gets vetoed I'll cast another vote.

I think you should choose a name that means Man after Gods heart .. whatever that is in Spanish/ It would remind you every time you hear it, the reason you are there.

LDoanthemom.

I say we combine Laura and Mike's ideas: David, but pronounce it spanish-like.

Chad m' man,
I think you should consider Grigory Bodo Brandybuck of Buckland or Beren Taurnil of Dorthonion or a nickname derived therefrom.
I'll send another suggestion if I can find the Dwarvish transliteration.

Emmons . . . vetoed

en-reek-eh (Enrique) that's actually my dad's Spanish name. can't compete with that cat.

Grigory Body Brandybuck . . . nope.
(that will include any other dwarvish suggestion)

David (Spanish like) a little better but no.

I like where this went. Let's keep the think tank going. I feel as though this has been a successful start, but we've got a long way to go people. Let's see what you can come up with.

Realize that if you choose Ruben I'll probably call you Ruby. Just a heads up.

I found the name Chale (spanish), which is relatively close to Chad in sound. It means "strong and manly." Plus, like Laura's idea, it gives you something to aspire to.

i think chachi, as in joni and chachi, only this would be emmy and chachi. it's desperately cute, plus you'd get to keep the majority of your name. Come on now.

I humbly suggest Cha. It means tea in Japanese, a very respected word in Japan. 75% is better than zero.

Have a little fun and go by Jackson! The Bolivians will love it.
